ShowUp invites local artists to submit work for consideration to a juried group show of contemporary artworks that portray, reference or otherwise make use of Boston’s Citgo sign in fun and compelling ways. Boston’s Citgo sign as we know it today was installed in Kenmore Square in 1965, and instantly became an unofficial icon. What does it mean when one of our most beloved landmarks is literally a giant logo of an oil company?
